Applications
2-methylfuran can be used as a solvent in solution polymerization, and can also be used to synthesize pentadiene, pentanediol, levulin and ketones and 2-methyltetrahydrofuran. In the pharmaceutical industry, it can be used to synthesize vitamin B1, chloroquine phosphate and primary aminoquine phosphate.
